This is an interesting and heartfelt memoir by a woman who has founded three bookstores that operate not only as bookstores but also as community centers. Harriett's bookshop is in Philadelphia, Ida's Bookshop is in Collingswood, N.J., and Josephine's Bookshop is in Paris. Cook's memoir also documents her struggle to complete her first novel and the last months she has with her father before his death in 2024. I learned about this book through Spotlight PA's monthly book club, which met over Zoom and included an interview of Cook by Spotlight PA's events coordinator, Yaasmeen Piper. You can find a recording of the book club meeting and interview here. Cook's success with organizing community events, writing two books, and opening and running three bookstores is very impressive!
